Men?s Golf in Action This Weekend at Til Duty Is Done Collegiate Invitational

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University men's golf team will compete as a part of a 16-team field this weekend at the Til Duty Is Done Collegiate Invitational at Lake of Isles North Course in North Stonington, Conn. The Stags are competing in their only in-state meet of the spring.

The tournament is named in honor of the Til Duty Is Done organization, a non-profit company based in Connecticut, with the goal of providing safe, secure and stable housing for returning veterans while they participate in skilled labor training programs and then aid in finding employment. Til Duty Is Done's aim is to reduce homelessness and unemployment among veterans and help with reintegration.

In addition to Fairfield and the host University of Connecticut, the field is highlighted by Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponents Canisius, Siena and Saint Peter's. Binghamton, Bryant, Central Connecticut State, Fordham, Hartford, Holy Cross, LIU Brooklyn, Sacred Heart, Towson, UMass-Lowell and Rhode Island round out the weekend's competitors.

Following a practice round on Friday, tournament play for the 89-player field will begin Saturday morning in 29 groups of threesomes and foursomes. The two-round event will conclude on Sunday.

Following this weekend's action, the Stags will play at a pair of one-day events in New Jersey next week to conclude the regular season. The 2015 MAAC Championship is slated for April 24-26 at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
