TJ Neubauer?was named the ECAC Lacrosse League Co-Offensive Player of the Week while senior
Michael Roe?was named the Specialist of the Week after helping the Stags to a 15-10 win at Quinnipiac.
Neubauer had an impressive effort at Quinnipiac on April 15, figuring into seven of the Stags' 15 goals. He finished with six goals, an assist, seven points, six ground balls, and four caused turnovers, all of which were career bests. Neubauer leads the Stags with 29 goals this season, second only to Air Force's Mike Crampton in the ECAC Lacrosse statistical rankings. Neubauer, who has recorded at least two goals in seven of his last 10 games, is third on the team in points (34). He also has 38 ground balls, good for second on the team.
Roe was named the Specialist of the Week for the fourth time this season. He won 10 of 19 faceoffs at Quinnipiac while scooping up four ground balls. Roe is ranked second all-time on Fairfield's career face-off wins list (384) and face offs attempted (718) and fourth in faceoff win percentage .535 (384-718). For his four-year career, including one season at Drexel, Roe is 464-for-874 at the faceoff X. Entering the week, he was tenth among the NCAA Division I Career Active Leaders in both wins and attempts, and 33rd in career faceoff percentage (.531). In addition, Roe was 17th in ground balls (218) and 27th in ground balls per game (3.89).
No. 14/17 Fairfield (10-3; 2-1 ECAC) closes out the regular season on April 26 when it hosts Ohio State at Lessing Field at 1pm. The Stags will not only honor their seniors before the game, but there will be a pregame reception and groundbreaking ceremony for the new Rafferty Stadium.
