FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Fairfield University junior Tristan Sperry has been added to the 2014 Tewaaraton Award Watch List presented by Panama Jack. The Tewaaraton Award is presented annually to the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States.
The Saratoga Springs, N.Y. native was one of four men's second additions announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation this week. The Stags' attackman is one of 62 Division I men's lacrosse student athletes on the Watch List.
Sperry is on a roll this season with 35 points in 11 games. He's scored 19 goals while notching 16 assists. He's also ranked 12th in the nation in shot percentage, converting 46.3 of his shots into goals.
It is the third straight year in which a Stag earned a spot on the Tewaaraton Watch List. Marshall Johnson and Sam Snow earned the honor in 2013 while Brent Adams and Charlie Cipriano earned the honors in 2012.
No. 11/12 Fairfield (9-2; 2-0) heads to Air Force for an ECAC Lacrosse League tilt on Saturday.
