Fairfield hits the road for back-to-back non-league games. The Stags stop at St. John's at 3pm on April 30 and then travel to Stony Brook on May 1.

Fairfield vs. St. John's: St. John's has won 10-straight against Fairfield, including last season's 6-4 victory at Alumni Diamond. In that contest,
Sebastian Salvo went 2-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored while
EJ Ashworth had a solid effort on the mound, allowing one unearned run on two hits with four strikeouts over 4.0 innings of work. Fairfield is 4-25 all-time against St. John's with the Stags' last victory coming on March 22, 2005 when they pulled out an 18-13 victory.
A Look at the Red Storm (19-26; 7-11 Big East): St. John's suffered a three-game sweep by No. 25 USF in Tampa, Fla. over the weekend. Prior to that, the Red Storm won four of five games with wins over Princeton, Louisville, and Boston College. Junior Frank Schwindel, who has started all 45 games, is batting .328 with 43 RBI and 31 runs scored for the Red Storm while sophomore Zach Lauricella is hitting .322 with 23 walks, 36 RBI, and 25 runs scored.
Fairfield vs. Stony Brook: Stony Brook has taken the last five meetings from the Stags, including last year's 6-4 victory at Alumni Diamond. In that game, the Seawolves broke a 4-4 tie in the fifth inning and held on for the win.
Jack Giannini was 2-for-4 on the day with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI.
Anthony Hajjar was 2-for-5 bringing his on-base streak to 13 games while
Ryan Plourde was 1-for-2 with three walks and a run scored. Fairfield is 1-9 all-time against Stony Brook with the lone win coming on April 3, 2007 when the Stags clipped the Seawolves, 4-2.
A Look at the Seawolves (16-28; 8-12 America East): Stony Brook took two out of three games from Binghamton over the weekend. Kevin Courtney was named the America East Player of the Week after going 6-for-18 with two homers and seven RBI with a slugging percentage of .833. Pitcher Daniel Zamora won his fourth America East Rookie of the Week award after impressive start against Binghamton in which he held them to one run on four hits. Jack Parenty is batting .333 with 24 runs and 13 RBI for the Seawolves this season.
Last Time Out: Niagara University used a rally in the eighth inning to overtake Fairfield University, 9-8, and win the series on Sunday afternoon. Senior

Heating Up: Junior
Ryan Plourde has been red hot over his last six games, batting .650 (13-for-20) with five walks, seven runs scored, seven RBI, and five stolen bases. Plourde, who has had at least two hits in each game during his streak, is slugging .950 and has an on-base percentage of .950. Plourde has struck out just once in his last 28 at-bats. The last time he fanned was in his last at-bat against Marist on April 13.
Looking Ahead: Fairfield returns to Alumni Diamond for its final home stand, May 6-7, hosting Iona. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning followed by a single game on Sunday; both games are slated for noon. Prior to first pitch on Sunday, Fairfield will honor its senior class in a ceremony.
