FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- After a successful start to the 2013-14 season, the Fairfield University men's basketball team returns to Webster Bank Arena for the second straight game, hosting the University of Hartford on November 13. The game is slated for a 7 pm tip.

This game is the first of four that the Stags will play as part of the 2013 Naismith Hall of Fame Tip Off, with all four of Fairfield's games being played in the Nutmeg State. After this date, Fairfield will host the College of the Holy Cross on November 20 at the Arena before heading to the Mohegan Sun Arena for games with the University of Louisville on November 23 and either the University of North Carolina or the University of Richmond on November 24.

The Hawks will play their third game in five days when they come to Webster Bank Arena for the second time this season. Hartford opened the year with an 82-77 loss to Quinnipiac in the Connecticut 6 Classic before dropping a 65-51 decision to Florida Gulf Coast. The FGC game was played at 7 am as part of the ESPN College Basketball Marathon.

Mark Nwakamma, a preseason All-America East player, picked up where he left off last year, representing the team's top scorer with 22 points per game. He tallied 23 points against FGC after posting 21 markers against Quinnipiac. Yolonzo Moore II, who was the team's top scorer against Quinnipiac with 22 points, ranks second on the team with 13.5 points every forty minutes. Hartford comes off a 17-win season which led the program to its first-ever Division I postseason tournament. The Hawks, like the Stags, were invited to the 2013 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.

The Stags opened the season with a 67-54 win over Sacred Heart in the final game of the Connecticut 6 Classic tripleheader at Webster Bank Arena. The Stags trailed by 10 early in the game but used a 27-5 run to erase that deficit and take a 12-point lead late in the first half. Fairfield led by 10 or more points all but once in the second half as Sacred Heart pulled to within nine points at 36-27 with 18:58 remaining in the game. Maurice Barrow led the team in scoring with 14 points, followed by Marcus Gilbert's 13 points. Foul trouble kept captain Amadou Sidibe off the floor for most of the game as the sophomore scored nine points in 13 minutes of work.

Students will have their first chance to win books for next semester on Wednesday night when the Stags host the University of Hartford at Webster Bank Arena. Head Coach Sydney Johnson will buy a semester of textbooks for a randomly-selected student who can make three hook shots from outside the paint in 10 seconds. And, the night will also be Stags and Bags Night where fans who donate at least two non-perishable items will receive a ticket voucher for FREE admission to any future home game.
