The Stags resume Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action with a three-game series against Manhattan College this weekend at Alumni Diamond. First pitch of the series is slated for 12pm on May 5.

Fairfield (20-23; 8-7 MAAC) vs. Manhattan (21-23; 10-5 MAAC): The Jaspers have had the Stags' number over the last 11 meetings, taking 10 of those contests. Fairfield's last victory over Manhattan came on April 17, 2010 at Alumni Diamond where the Stags posted a 7-6 win. The Stags hold a 65-39 all-times record over the Jaspers. Junior

Manhattan Minutes: The Jaspers are coming off a 6-4 victory over Fordham on Tuesday which snapped a three-game skid. Anthony Vega is batting .329 with 31 runs scored and 24 stolen bases in 25 attempts while Ramon Ortega has driven in a team-high 38 runs. On the mound, John Soldinger is 3-4 with a 3.21 ERA in 11 appearances. Soldinger has thrown five complete games, striking out 37 in 67.1 innings of work. Mike Giordano (0-4) has made five starts this season and has a 4.50 ERA. Taylor Sewitt (5-1/3.26 ERA) shared MAAC Pitcher of the Week honors with the Stags'

It's a Steal: Senior
Larry Cornelia has stolen a career-high 22 bases this year and is the first Stag to swipe 20+ bases in a season since 1999. During that campaign, Tom Lopusznick stole 33 while Paul Macchio had 21 stolen bases. The Fairfield single season record for steals is 37 which was set by Bill Barnes in 1978.
Let's Turn Two: The Fairfield defense has turned 42 double plays this season. Last year, the Stags tied the single season program record with 46 double plays.
He's Perfect: Rookie second baseman
Sal Ciccone is perfect defensively for the Stags this season with no errors in 229 chances. Mike Svab holds the Fairfield record for most consecutive chances without an error, making 307 straight plays without an error in 1987. In addition, Ciccone has helped turn 33 of Fairfield's 42 double plays.
