Fairfield (14-19) vs. UConn (20-16): Fairfield and UConn will meet for the first and only time this year. Last season, the Huskies topped the Stags 13-2 at J.O. Christian Field. Fairfield is 15-53-1 all-time against UConn, with the last Stags victory coming on April 25, 2006.

Huskies Hubbub:  UConn notched its 20th win of the year on Sunday by edging St. John's University, 8-7, in 11 innings. With the win in the series finale, Connecticut snapped a three-game losing streak and moved into second in the Big East standings with an 8-3 league record. Centerfielder Billy Ferriter is batting .346 with 31 runs scored and 21 RBI and has swiped 14 bases in 19 attempts. Second baseman LJ Mazzilli is hitting .343 with 33 runs scored and 32 RBI, both team-highs.

Last Time Out: The Stags were last in action on April 11 when they took a doubleheader at Yale University. The sweep was Fairfield's first-ever doubleheader sweep of the Bulldogs. The Stags picked up a 4-3 win in opener and pulled out an 8-4 victory in the night cap. Junior Anthony Hajjar went a combined 4-for-7 with five RBI while freshman Sebastian Salvo was a combined 3-for-6. Senior Tyler Wosleger was a combined 3-for-7 with three runs scored. Rookie EJ Ashworth got the victory in the first game improving to 2-4 on the season after scattering five hits and striking out four batters in 5.2 innings of scoreless relief. In the second game, junior Kyle Capaldo improved to 2-0 on the year after tossing an inning of scoreless relief. Junior Mark Bordonaro notched his first save of the season, throwing the final two innings of the game, striking out three of the six batters he faced.

Up Next: Fairfield returns to MAAC action this weekend, traveling to Niagara University for a three-game series. After a stop at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard on April 24 to face Sacred Heart, the Stags return to Alumni Diamond for eight straight games, their longest home stand of the season.
