Fairfield returns home for the first time in 20 days to host a non-league game against Quinnipiac on Tuesday.

Fairfield (8-14; 1-2 MAAC) vs. Quinnipiac (3-15; 2-6 NEC): The Stags have taken five straight meetings from the Bobcats, including last season's 15-1 victory in Hamden, Conn. Larry Cornelia went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI in that game while Ryan Plourde went 2-for-4. Junior Anthony Hajjar is a career .333 hitter against the Bobcats, going 5-for-15 with four RBI. Fairfield is 17-12 all-time against Quinnipiac. The Bobcats' last victory against the Stags came on April 24, 2008 in a 3-0 game.

Scouting Quinnipiac: The Bobcats have lost five of their last six games entering Tuesday's contest and are coming off an 11-2 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson. Zak Palmer leads Quinnipiac in batting average (.300), hits (18) and stolen bases (4) while also driving in five runs and scoring five more. Freshman Vincent Guglietti batted a team high .438 while driving in four runs and scoring three more in a four-game series against FDU. As a team this season, Quinnipiac is hitting a collective .226 and has scored just 47. The pitching staff yields a 5.37 ERA. Derek Lamacchia has a 1.67 ERA with 29 strikeouts in 27.0 innings. Quinnipiac Head Coach Dan “Skip” Gooley is going for his 500th career victory on Tuesday.

Streaking Stags: Senior Tyler Wosleger is currently riding a 10-game hitting streak. It is the second longest hitting streak of the season by a Stag. Sophomore Ryan Plourde hit in 13 consecutive games between March 2 and March 18.

Middle Relief: Rookie Andrew Gallagher has allowed just one run in his last nine appearances. Before giving up that run at Iona on March 24, Gallagher had thrown 12 scoreless innings of relief. Gallagher is 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA this season.

Moving On Up: Junior Anthony Hajjar is 26 hits away from cracking the top-10 on Fairfield's career hits chart. The first baseman currently has 131 career hits.

Fairfield Among the MAAC Leaders: The Stags pitching staff leads the MAAC with a 4.52 ERA with opponents hitting just .274 against Fairfield. The Stags are also second in the MAAC in strikeouts with 157. Senior Scott Warwick is fifth in ERA with a 3.08 ERA.  Offensively, Fairfield is fourth in runs scored (107) and fifth in batting average (.360).  Sophomore Ryan Plourde and senior Tyler Wosleger are fourth and fifth, respectively, in batting average. Plourde is hitting .360 while Wosleger is hitting .356. Senior Larry Cornelia is tied for third in the league with 31 hits.
