Fairfield returns home for the first time in 20 days to host a non-league game against Quinnipiac on Tuesday.

Fairfield (8-14; 1-2 MAAC) vs. Quinnipiac (3-15; 2-6 NEC): The Stags have taken five straight meetings from the Bobcats, including last season's 15-1 victory in Hamden, Conn.

Scouting Quinnipiac: The Bobcats have lost five of their last six games entering Tuesday's contest and are coming off an 11-2 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson. Zak Palmer leads Quinnipiac in batting average (.300), hits (18) and stolen bases (4) while also driving in five runs and scoring five more. Freshman Vincent Guglietti batted a team high .438 while driving in four runs and scoring three more in a four-game series against FDU. As a team this season, Quinnipiac is hitting a collective .226 and has scored just 47. The pitching staff yields a 5.37 ERA. Derek Lamacchia has a 1.67 ERA with 29 strikeouts in 27.0 innings. Quinnipiac Head Coach Dan “Skip” Gooley is going for his 500th career victory on Tuesday.
