FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University men's basketball team finishes up its "super" weekend by hosting Siena College at Webster Bank Arena on Sunday afternoon. The game, which will be televised live on SportsNet New York (SNY), tips off at 3:30 pm.

Siena brings a 10-12 overall record and a 5-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) slate after falling to Saint Peter's at home Friday night. The Saints saw its five game win streak at home end with the setback, a streak which began with a 73-60 win over Fairfield on January 6.

OD Anosike leads the game in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.5 points and 12.9 rebounds per game. He is the only student-athlete in the MAAC to average a double-double this season. His streak of 17 straight double-doubles ended when he scored nine points against the Peacocks. The streak started with double his 24-point, 10-rebound performance against Vermont on November 26. He has been the team's top rebounder in every game this season.

Siena has two other student-athletes scoring in double figures, namely Evan Hymes (14.2 ppg) and Kyle Downey (12.4 ppg). Hymes and Downey join Anosike and Brandon Walters as the four Saints who have started every game this season. Hymes is the team's top three-point shooter, netting 37 in 21 games. He is the most accurate three-point shooter on the team as well, netting 35 percent of his attempts.

'Rob Poole is also a good outside shooter, making 25 of 84 attempts from behind the arc. He averages 7.3 points per game and has the best assist-to-turnover ratio with 47 assists against 29 turnovers.

The Saints start a three-game road swing with this game, heading to Buffalo next weekend for games with Niagara and Canisius.

Fairfield plays its fourth straight home game this afternoon, a home stand which will conclude on Thursday night against Manhattan. The Stags have won two of the first three games on this home stand, including Friday's eight-point win over Niagara.
.
The Stags own a 12-10 overall record and a 7-4 MAAC mark into the game, winning four of its last five games against conference opponents. In those five games, the opposition averaged less than 60 points per game (59.3 ppg). Those defensive efforts allow Fairfield to remain on top of the conference for scoring defense, yielding just 62.6 points per game. The opponent scored less than 60 points in two of those five games, giving Fairfield 10 games in which it did not allow the opponent to reach 60 points.

Fairfield's two scorers remain Rakim Sanders and Derek Needham, both of whom have remained consistent in conference and non-conference games. Sanders averages 16.2 points per game overall and 16.0 points per outing in conference play. Needham has also remained on track with 12.0 points per game in all games and 12.8 points per contest in MAAC contests. Sanders is averaging nearly a double-double during the MAAC season with 9.7 rebounds every forty minutes.
