Men's Soccer Falls To Saint Peter's On The Road, 2

JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- The Fairfield University men's soccer team dropped a road conference game to Saint Peter's University on Friday afternoon, as the Peacocks posted a 2-0 win. The Stags fell to 4-6-1 overall and 0-2 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play.

Neither team managed to break through in the first half as both the Stags and the Peacocks shut down the opposing offense. Saint Peter's held a slight lead in shots, taking four of the seven attempts made in the opening 45 minutes.

The second half belong to the Peacocks as they secured 12 shots while keeping Fairfield away from the home team's goal. The Stags managed two shots in the second half, giving them five for the entire game. The Peacocks finally broke through in the 62nd minute when Noah Sadaoui secured a pass off Marcel Maddee's corner kick that resulted in a 1-0 lea

The lead doubled up in the 80th minute when Jacob Robertson sent a pass through the Fairfield defense that found Betim Bajrami alone in the box. He converted the one-on-one opportunity to give Saint Peter's a 2-0 lead, and would eventually send the team to its first MAAC win of the season.

Fairfield goalkeeper Michael O'Keeffe made nine saves in the game, six of which came in the second half. Carlos Suarez tallied three saves in the game with only one of those stops occurring in the second half.

The Stags finish off the weekend with another road games, heading to Manhattan College for an 11 am game on Sunday.
