FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University men's basketball team will finish up its two-game weekend road trip with a Sunday afternoon match up with Manhattan College. The Stags look to improve on its 8-7 overall record and 3-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) mark. The Jaspers bring a 9-7 overall record and a 2-2 MAAC slate.
Fairfield comes off a 73-60 loss at Siena College on Friday night, the team's first conference loss of the season.
Desmond Wade put together his best game as a Stag if not as a collegiate player when he tallied 27 points off seven three pointers. The guard also did not commit a turnover in the game,dishing off three assists.
Fairfield will play its fourth MAAC road game of the season this afternoon, the most by any conference team at this point of the season. Canisius is closest to the Stags with three road games, the last of which came at Loyola yesterday. The Stags will play seven of its next games at home, including five straight games between January 27 to February 9. Fairfield currently owns a 2-1 MAAC road record.
Manhattan will look to its leading scorer George Beamon, who also represents one of the top three-point shooters on the team. Beamon is averaging 16.5 points per game, and has tossed in 26 three pointers in 16 games. Roberto Colonette is the team's top rebounder at 5.9 caroms per contest.
