FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University men's basketball team hosts Marist College in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) game on Wednesday night. The game is slated for a 7:30 pm tip at the Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard.

With a victory, the Stags would capture the MAAC regular-season championship and the top-seed in the 2011 MAAC Basketball Tournament which will be played at Webster Bank Arena. Fairfield looks to improve on its 20-5 overall record and 13-2 MAAC mark. Fairfield has a three-game lead in the MAAC standings with three games to play.

The Stags bring a 20-5 overall record and a 13-2 MAAC slate into tonight's game after posting a 70-69 overtime win at Saint Peter's last Sunday. Fairfield reached the 20-win mark for the second straight season after posting a 23-11 record in 2009-10. It's the first time in program history that the Stags have put together back-to-back 20-win seasons.

Needham leads the team in scoring with a 14.4 scoring average, which also places sixth among the MAAC scoring leaders. Ryan Olander is next in line with a 10.6 scoring average. He averages a team-best 7.2 rebounds per game, which is eighth in the conference. Yorel Hawkins places third on the team with 9.8 points per game, averaging 11.7 points per game over the last 10 contests.

Prescott's output was the most points by a Marist student-athlete since David Bennett netted 42 points against Saint Peter's during the 2002-03 campaign. Prescott made 11 of 19 field goal attempts, including five of seven three-point tries, and connected on all seven free throw tries. Prescott enters tonight's game as the team's leading scorer with an 11.8 scoring average, the only Red Fox to average more than 10 points per game.
