FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Junior Brad Orban has been named the MAAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the second week in a row and the third time in his career.
Orban went 2-0 against UConn with wins at No. 1 singles and doubles. In singles action he topped Christopher Toner in straight sets (6-1, 6-2). With partner Anthony Caputo in doubles play, the two earned a 7-6 win in the first spot.
As the No. 1 singles player for the Stags, he has been a perfect 5-0 since the beginning of February with straight set wins over Lafayette, Saint Joseph’s, Drexel, Boston University, and UConn. Overall this season he has posted an impressive 12-5 record in the top singles spot.
Fairfield will compete at the Yale Invitational this weekend, taking on the likes of Yale, Marist, and Stony Brook.
