EDISON, N.J. – After leading the back row for Fairfield University Volleyball in a 2-1 week of action, Natalie Carlin has been named the Metro Conference Libero of the Week. Carlin averaged a team-leading 4.58 digs per set in 12 frames of action and posted her first career double-double during the Stags' weekend in Boston.
 
Carlin registered double-digit digs in all three matches as the Stags visited Harvard on Friday and then picked up two wins on Saturday at Northeastern – a 3-1 triumph over Holy Cross and a five-set victory over the host Huskies. Her double-double came in the win over the Crusaders as she tallied a pair of new career bests with 26 digs and 10 assists. Carlin also chipped in to the Fairfield scoring effort with three service aces.
 
On the season, Carlin ranks seventh in the Metro Conference with a team-best 3.37 digs per set. The award is the first of Carlin's career, and she is Fairfield's first conference Libero of the Week honoree since Kyla Berg, who earned the distinction a program-record six times in her tenure as a Stag.
 
A third consecutive road weekend is up next as Fairfield (3-3) travels to Long Island for the Hofstra Invitational. The Stags meet Army West Point on Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. and will challenge Liberty on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. Army will head to Hofstra at 5-1 and Liberty is makes the trek north with a 3-3 tally.
 
The home schedule begins the following weekend with the Fairfield Invitational at Leo D. Mahoney Arena on Sept. 17-19.
