FAIRFIELD, Conn. – After collecting two wins with Fairfield University Volleyball this past weekend, Emma Bortolotti and Aislin Oldach have earned recognition from the Metro Conference. Bortolotti was named the Metro Player of the Week, while Oldach was tabbed as the conference's Rookie of the Week.
 
The Stags went 2-1 at Leo D. Mahoney Arena this past weekend at the Fairfield invitational. Fairfield defeated CCSU and Brown and fell to Middle Tennessee, all in four sets.
 
Bortolotti led the Fairfield attack with a team-leading 3.42 kills per set, swinging at a .307 clip from the right side. She was also second on the team in digs with 2.42 per set en route to a double-double in each of the Stags' home victories. Bortolotti filled out her statline with five aces and 10 blocks – both second on the team for the weekend – in 12 sets of action.
 
This week's award is the first Metro Conference Player of the Week for Bortolotti after earning Rookie of the Week recognition twice as a freshman in 2025.
 
Oldach collected her first Metro Rookie of the Week award following a week in which she hit .250 on her way to 2.50 kills per set. Oldach, who hit .500 with 13 kills in the Thursday win over CCSU, also recorded five blocks and three service aces in her 12 sets on the court this weekend at Mahoney Arena.
 
After a two-win weekend to close out the non-conference slate, Fairfield Volleyball will bring a 6-5 overall mark into the Metro Conference portion of the 2026 season.  The Stags trek to Western New York this weekend for matches at Niagara and Canisius on Sept. 25-26. Fairfield will also head to crosstown foe Sacred Heart (Sept. 29) before kicking off a four-match homestand with a visit from Quinnipiac on Friday, Oct. 2 that will be broadcast live on SNY.
