FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Goalkeeper Evan Chomow and forward Cristiano Carlos earned Metro Conference weekly men's soccer honors for their play last week. Chomow collected the defensive week of the award while Carlos captured his third rookie of the week accolade.

Chomow posted a season-best seven saves against the University of New Haven as the Stags edged the Chargers by a 2-1 score at home. The sophomore made five saves in the first half to preserve Fairfield's 1-0 lead at the half. He added in two more stops in the second half, both coming after the 85^th minute to keep his team's one-goal lead through full time.

Carlos earned his weekly award after scoring the deciding goal against the University of New Haven, posting it in the 75^th minute to break the 1-1 tie. He also played a part in the team's first goal, as he was making a run inside the box when he was pulled down to give a penalty kick to Fairfield just a minute into the match.

Chomow owns a 1.60 goals against average and a .733 save percentage through his five starts in 2026, making 22 saves for an average of 4.4 stops per contest. Carlos leads the team with four goals and one assist for nine points, posting a point in each of his first five collegiate contests.

The Fairfield University men's soccer team, under Head Coach Krystian Witkowski, brings a four-game unbeaten streak into this week's action, posting a 2-0-2 record since its 2-1 setback against nationally-ranked Marshall University in the season opener. The Stags will open Metro Conference play this weekend by hosting Siena University at Lessing Field on Saturday. Game time is 6 pm.
