Stags Visit Quinnipiac, Saturday at 11 AM

Fairfield enters the weekend owning first place in the MAAC

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse continues the stretch run of the MAAC regular season with a Saturday, April 11 trip to Quinnipiac. Opening draw between the Stags and Bobcats is set for 11 a.m.
 
Fairfield University Stags (11-3, 6-0 MAAC)
  • The Stags knocked Mount St. Mary's from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 12-4 win on Wednesday at Rafferty Stadium.
  • While Fairfield controls its own destiny for at least a share of the MAAC Regular Season Championship, Niagara has kept pace with the Stags at 6-0 and Mount St. Mary's remains in the hunt at 5-1. The Purple Eagles will meet The Mount on the final day of the regular season. The Stags do not play Niagara.
  • After Wednesday's standout defensive effort, Fairfield shares the MAAC lead with Siena at 7.93 goals per game allowed – also tied for 10th in the nation.
  • The Stags rank fourth in the MAAC offensively with 10.93 goals per game.
 
Quinnipiac University Bobcats (8-6, 3-3 MAAC)
  • Quinnipiac rolled past visiting Rider, 19-6, on Wednesday to even its MAAC record at 3-3. All three of their MAAC losses came by a one-goal margin.
  • The Bobcats are one of four teams tied at 3-3 alongside Siena, Sacred Heart, and Marist.
  • Quinnipiac is the second-highest scoring offense in the MAAC with 14.21 goals per game. The Bobcats are sixth defensively at 10.64 goals allowed per game.
  • Cate Bendowski ranks ninth in the nation with 40 assists as a part of her team-best 65 points. She slots second in the MAAC in both categories.
 
Series History
  • Fairfield is 17-0 all-time against Quinnipiac.
  • The teams have met at least once annually in 2010, with the exception of the 2020 season that was canceled due to Covid-19 prior to the start of MAAC play.
