Stags Host The Mount in Pivotal MAAC Matchup, Wednesday at 1 PM

Both teams enter the week at 5-0 in conference play

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse enters the stretch run of the MAAC regular season with a pivotal home outing against Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday, April 8 at 1 p.m. The Stags and Mount both enter the week at 5-0 in the MAAC.
 
Admission is free for all fans to all Fairfield Women's Lacrosse regular season home games this season.
 
Fairfield University Stags (10-3, 5-0 MAAC)
  • Fairfield ran its win streak to six games with an 18-5 victory over Manhattan on Saturday.
  • Haley Burns, Tessa Caputo, and Kelly Haggerty all had six points in the home win.
  • Excluding the Covid-shortened 2020 season, the Stags have now won 10 or more games in nine consecutive seasons. They have also posted a winning MAAC record in all nine of those campaigns.
  • Haggerty was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after totaling 11 points in last week's wins over Rider and Manhattan.
  • Fairfield ranks fourth in the MAAC in scoring (10.85 goals per game) and second defensively (8.23 goals allowed per game).
 
Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers (9-4, 5-0 MAAC)
  • The Mount ran its record to 9-4 on the season and 5-0 in the MAAC with a 17-8 home win over Iona on Saturday.
  • Brooke Molchanoff leads the MAAC and enters the week at ninth in the nation with 68 points this season. Her 51 goals also top the conference and are good for fifth nationally.
  • As a team, the Mount ranks third in both scoring offense (13.77 goals per game) and scoring defense (9.69 goals allowed per game).
  • The Stags and Mount have both defeated Rider and Siena during league play. They did not play any common non-conference opponents.
 
Series History
  • Fairfield lead the all-time series, 7-4.
  • Mount won last season's meeting in Emmitsburg in a result that ultimately decided the top seed between the two eventual MAAC Regular Season co-Champions.
  • The Stags had won the six prior meetings before the 2025 clash.
