Two Stags Named to All-Met Teams

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Two members of the Fairfield University Women's Basketball team were recognized as among the best in the region being named to All-Metropolitan teams. The MAAC Player of the Year Kaety L'Amoreaux earned First Team honors while Road Runner Meghan Andersen was selected to the Second Team. The three teams were selected by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association comprising 21 colleges and over 300 student-athletes.

"In a geographic region that is so dense with high-level talent, Meg and Kaety continue to rise to the top," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "They represent Fairfield in all the best ways in the northeast and on the national stage."

L'Amoreaux's MAAC Player of the Year honor encompassed a career-high in: points (570), assists (143), 3-pointers (74), free throws (126), rebounds (163), and steals (68) while also having the most accurate shooting numbers of her career with a .464 field goal percentage and a .365 shooting clip. She led the MAAC with 570 points which was the fourth-most in a season in Fairfield history. She also led the conference in: assists, field goal percentage, free throws made, and free throw percentage (.887). Her 126 free throws were the most by a Stag in 25 years and her .887 percentage from the stripe was the highest in school history.

The postseason awards piled in for L'Amoreaux as she was named to the All-ECAC First Team as well as earning a spot on the CSC Academic All-District squad.

Andersen earns her third-straight All-Met recognition, being selected to the Second Team after setting a personal-best with 532 points scored. She was also an All-MAAC First Team honoree and finished tied atop the MAAC leaderboards with 88 3-pointers made. The 88 triples were the second-most in Fairfield history and her .398 3-point percentage ranked in the top-five in the conference.

She was also second in the MAAC with a 16.1 scoring average and moved into 12th in the Fairfield career scoring spot with 1,519.

The duo helped the Stags claim their third-straight MAAC Championship title and earn their lowest seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history, claiming the No. 11 spot. The Stags were also ranked in the top-25 in the Associated Press (AP) Top-25 poll, the third-straight season the program has claimed votes in the national poll.

The 2025-26 All-Met teams will be honored at the 93rd MBWA Haggerty Awards dinner on Thursday, April 23, at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel & Conference Center in Tarrytown, NY. The Haggerty dinner, which also will be live streamed, is the longest running, media-managed college basketball awards program in the United States.
