FAIRFIELD, Conn – Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse challenges its second consecutive nationally ranked opponent when #19 Denver comes to Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium on Sunday, March 8. Opening draw between the Stags and Pioneers is scheduled for noon.
Admission is free for all fans to all Fairfield Women's Lacrosse regular season home games this season.
Fairfield University Stags (4-2, 0-0 MAAC)
- Fairfield most recently fell at #23 Army West Point, 15-8, on Wednesday to move to 4-2 on the year.
- Kelly Haggerty tallied her third consecutive hat trick on Wednesday, improving her team-best total to 15 points.
- Tessa Caputo is the Stags' points leader with six goals and a team-best 17 assists.
- The defense is led by Sophia Colasacco's 13 caused turnovers, as well as 12 in the midfield by Haley Burns.
- In the cage, Whitney Robinson leads the MAAC with a 9.09 goals-against average. Her .457 save percentage is good for third in the conference.
#19 University of Denver Pioneers (5-1, 0-0 Big East)
- Denver looks to bounce back from its first loss of 2026 – a 12-11 overtime setback on Friday at #13 Stony Brook.
- The Pioneers' five victories came in convincing fashion on USC, Arizona State, Towson, Vanderbilt, and High Point.
- Denver owns the fourth-ranked defense in the nation, conceding just 6.17 goals per game. Lexi Gwaku owns a .485 save percentage and a 7.37 goals-against average.
- Offensively, Caroline Keil and Olivia Ripple have scored 20 and 19 goals, respectively. Ripple adds six assists to post a team-leading 25 points.
Series History
- Denver has won all six prior meetings with the Stags, including an 18-6 decision last March in Colorado.
- The Pioneers are making their second appearance at Rafferty Stadium, last taking the trip east in the 2019 campaign.
