TROY, N.Y. – The Fairfield University Baseball team salvaged the series finale by scoring a season-high 12 runs for a 12-3 victory, which was also the 400th victory for Head Coach
Bill Currier as a Stag. The win came after the Stags fell 7-6 in the middle game as the Saints plated three runs in the bottom of the ninth.

Bill Currier said. "He did a great job establishing himself as a weekend stater today. We need him to keep pitching at a high level to keep us in the games for our hitters to win some games."
Game One: Siena 7, Fairfield 6
After resuming a game that was suspended due to darkness, Siena rallied with a homer in the eighth and three runs in the ninth to take the 7-6 decision.
The Stags held a 6-3 lead after
JP Kuczik brought in a run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh before the game was suspended due to darkness.
When the game resumed at 11:30am, Siena's Aidan Paradine hit a solo shot to put the game at 6-4 going into the ninth.
Siena would tie the game on a RBI double and a Gavin Thorburn run-scoring single with nobody out. The Saints would load the bases but Fairfield got back-to-back fielders' choices by getting the lead runner at home.
The Saints would get the winning run in with a walk.
Matthew Bucciero and
Luke Nomura led the Stags with three hits apiece with Bucciero driving in runs in both the third and fourth innings.
Connor Scanlan also had two hits while driving in a pair of runs.
Alex Frank tossed three scoreless frames before the delay striking out three.
Game Two: Fairfield 12, Siena 3
The Stags bounced back from the earlier loss with a season-high 12 runs in a 12-3 victory.
Brendon Miller had the best start of his collegiate career with a career-high seven innings allowing three runs and striking out five.
Fairfield plated the first two runs of the game as
Zach Stephenson and
TJ Schmalzle both drew bases loaded walks.
After giving up the lead in the third, the Stags would score 10 unanswered runs to take control of the game. Bucciero tied the game at 3-3 with a RBI infield single. Kuczik followed with a run-scoring double to regain Fairfield's lead.
The Stags put up five runs in the sixth with Stephenson and Schmalzle recording RBI singles and
Luke Nomura highlighting the frame with a three-run shot.
Schmazmle added another RBI single in the seventh with Nomura and Bucciero also bringing in runs in the ninth.
Nick Kelly and
Jack Sheldon finished the game with a pair of shutout frames.
The win also marked the 400th win in Coach Currier's Fairfield career. Overall, he has amassed 892 victories in his 37-year career which ranks 17th among all active Division I coaches.
Fairfield will return to midweek action when they travel to St. John's on Tuesday at 3pm.
