EDISON, N.J. – Tessa Caputo has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Caputo posted a career-high seven points in Saturday's victory for Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse over visiting Drexel.
Caputo netted her first career hat trick on Saturday, including her third goal with 5:27 to play that proved to be the game's final tally in a 10-9 win for the Stags. She also distributed four assists to round out her career-best seven points on the afternoon.
This season, Caputo leads the Stags and ranks third in the MAAC with 21 points. Her 15 assists are good for second in the MAAC, and she enters the week ranked eighth nationally with 3.00 assists per game.
Fairfield Women's Lacrosse (4-1) continues non-conference play this week with two games against ranked opponents. First, the Stags pay a visit to #23 Army West Point on Wednesday, March 4 for a 4 p.m. clash. Action returns to Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium on Sunday, March 8 with a noon visit from #19 Denver.
Admission is free for all fans to all Fairfield Women's Lacrosse regular season home games this season.
