Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Stags Run Past Siena

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Four different Stags reached double-figures led by a career-high 19 points from Cyanne Coe as the Fairfield University Women's Basketball team closed out the road portion of their regular season with an 81-51 victory over Siena. Coe also led the rebounding effort as she neared a double-double with nine boards.

"We did a good job at scoring in the interior," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "When our threes aren't falling it's nice to have that balance. Cy has kind of been the leader of the pack there. Defensively, I thought we got a little bit better as the game went on. We were certainly disruptive but need to be more disciplined in doing so."

With the win, the Stags maintain their first-place position in the MAAC with an 18-1 record and a 24-4 overall mark.

Once again, the Fairfield defense was stifling as they held Siena to just 14 field goals on a .298 clip. Fairfield also did not allow a 3-pointer for their second-straight game against the Saints. In total, Siena shot 0-for-22 from 3-point range against the Stags this season.

Fairfield also allowed just four assists on 24 turnovers.

Fairfield led the entire game after starting the contest with an 11-0 run while extending their first quarter lead to 13 at 26-13.

The Stags allowed just one field goal over the first 15 minutes of game play as Siena made 15 of their first 17 points from the line. Fairfield surrendered just four field goals in the first 20 minutes.

Over their last 10 wins, the Stags are giving up just 2.1 triples per game at a 16 percent clip.

The Stags were balanced offensively with nine different Stags entering the scoring column with Coe, Kaety L'Amoreaux, Meghan Andersen, and Janelle Brown all reaching double-digits.

Coe led Fairfield's play in the paint as the Stags finished with 48 points inside.

L'Amoreaux would fill out the stat sheet with eight rebounds and matching a team-high with four assists. Brown also had four helpers while going 5-for-8 from the field.

Fairfield's win was the 52nd under Coach Carly, the most in the nation in that four-year span.

The Stags will return home for their final regular season matchup against crosstown rivals Sacred Heart on Saturday night at 7pm. Before the game, the Stags will celebrate the Class of 2026 with a special pregame ceremony starting at around 6:20pm.
