FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team clinched a share of their third-straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Regular Season Championship with a 67-50 victory over Sacred Heart on Senior Night. With the win, the Stags finish the regular season with a 19-1 conference mark and a 25-4 overall record.
"I was proud of our second half an out ability to keep our heads when we weren't playing our best," Head Coach
Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "We came out focused in the second half to make a push. I love that we grinded it out when we had a ton of grit in that second half. Kaety (L'Amoreaux) and Nellie (Brown) were dogs today and that's what our point guards do."

On the court, the Stags had to battle back from a halftime deficit that extended to the first three minutes of the third quarter.
Meghan Andersen gave the Stags a one-point lead with a 3-pointer to put the score at 31-29 at the 6:53 mark. Fairfield took the lead for good with just two minutes left in the frame on back-to-back 'And-1' opportunities by
Kaety L'Amoreaux.
The Stags outscored Sacred Heart 23-10 in the final quarter starting with an 11-1 run. Three Stags scored during that spurt led by five points from
Jillian Huerter.
Four Stags scored in double-figures led by Huerter's 16 on a 4-for-6 showing from behind the arc. L'Amoreaux and Andersen added 15 with
Cyanne Coe tallying 14 on 7-for-9 shooting.
On her Senior Night, Brown led the defensive effort with six steals leading to 20 Sacred Heart turnovers. It was the 17th time this season the Stags forced 20 or more turnovers.
L'Amoreaux led the Stags with six assists while Andersen and Coe controlled the boards with seven rebounds.
The game was also the final regular season home game in the careers of Scott, Brown, and Beach. The Class of 2026 have accounted for three MAAC Championships and 124 total victories.
With the win, the Stags clinched a share of the MAAC Regular Season Championship for the third-straight season and the seventh time in program history. Fairfield will be the two-seed in the upcoming MAAC Championships and will play their first game on Friday at 2:30pm against the winner of Sacred Heart and Saint Peter's.
