RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team dropped their third-straight Metro Conference game by falling to the Manhattan Jaspers 3-1 on the road.
Ashlyn Walsh recorded the lone Fairfield goal by netting her fifth of the season with
Payton Zaun picking up her ninth assist. The Stags remain in a three-way tie for third place in the Metro standings with 21 points.
Walsh's goal in the 50th minute cut the Manhattan lead in half at 2-1 after the Stags surrendered scores in the 17th and 45th minutes.
Zaun picked up her team-leading ninth assist on the goal with Walsh tallying her fifth goal.
The Jaspers' defense would able to hold off the typical Fairfield high-powered offense as the Stags were held without a shot for the next 23 minutes.
Amelie Stewart and
Ella Pisani had back-to-back attempts in the 73rd minute but could not find the target.
The Stags had one final offensive barrage in the final 10 minutes with shots from Stewart and
Ashley McMahon finding the target but saved by the Manhattan goalkeeper.
Pisani finished off that flurry with a chance off the crossbar.
The Stags out-shot Manhattan 17-12 in the match with seven of those attempts on target.
The Stags are back home on Lessing Field for the final time in 2026 when they host Saint Peter's on Saturday, Oct. 31 at noon.
