Stags Complete Home Slate with Dominating 7-0 Win Over Saint Peter’s

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team capped off their 2026 home slate with one of their most dominating wins of the season as they tied a season-high of seven goals in a 7-0 win over Saint Peter's. Five different Stags scored a goal in the victory led by a pair from Kelly O'Connor and Amelie Stewart. With the win, Fairfield clinches a spot in the Metro Conference Championships.

"We needed a performance like this today to get ourselves back to feeling good about our team," Head Coach David Barrett said. "I thought the changes we made to the lineup today had a very positive impact on the game and we found some very good rhythm especially in the first half."

The Stags gave their home fans one final look of their high-powered and balanced offensive attack with 10 different players tallying a point and five student-athletes registering a goal.

Stewart and O'Connor completed their braces in the first half, as Fairfield notched a 5-0 lead after 45 minutes. Stewart netted a pair in just two minutes while O'Connor tallied back-to-back scores in a four-minute span. Payton Zaun started the scoring with her team-leading seventh goal just four minutes into the match.

Freshmen Bella Bingham and Madeline Hargraves completed the scoring with second half goals with Hargraves tallying the first of her collegiate career.

In total, 10 different Stags tallied a point with Carlyse Berry, Ashley McMahon, Ashlyn Walsh, Ella Pisani, and Riley Roycroft all adding assists in the victory.

Zaun added another assist to her conference-leading tally as she now has 10 helpers in her sophomore season, tying her for seventh on the program's single-season list.

Fairfield out-shot Saint Peter's 33-2, raising their national-leading average to 22.4 per match.

Marilyn Dixon earned the win as she went all 45 minutes in goal.

The Stags will complete their 2026 regular season when they make the trip to face their crosstown rivals – and defending conference champions – Sacred Heart on Wednesday night at 7pm.
