FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Metro Conference action comes to Leo D. Mahoney Arena for the first time when Fairfield University Volleyball hosts Quinnipiac and Merrimack this weekend. The Stags and Bobcats will clash on Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. in a match that will be broadcast live on SNY. Merrimack then visits Mahoney Arena on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 4 p.m.
In addition to Friday's SNY telecast, both of this weekend's matches will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Admission is free for all fans to all home matches this season.

- Zofia Sykut was named the Metro Setter of the Week following her performance in Fairfield's 2-0 trip to Western New York last weekend.
- Fairfield and Iona are the only remaining unbeaten teams in the Metro standings after three rounds of conference action. The Stags and Gaels will meet just once this season – an Oct. 24 encounter at Mahoney Arena.

Fairfield University Stags (9-5, 3-0 Metro)
- Fairfield rallied from an 0-2 deficit to knock off Sacred Heart, 3-2, on Tuesday at the Pitt Center and improve to 3-0 in the Metro and 9-5 overall.
- Mamie Krubally owns a .462 hitting percentage in Metro play – second overall and the only player averaging at least six swings per set hitting over .300. She is averaging 3.15 kills per set in three conference matches to date.
- Overall, Krubally is putting down 2.67 kills per frame at a .332 clip. Emma Bortolotti also averages 2.67 kills per set from the right side.
- After racking up 10 blocks on Tuesday, Harlan Wyche regained the Metro lead with 1.40 blocks per set – 77 rejections in 55 sets of work.
- No Stags ranks among the conference leaders in digs, as Fairfield boasts seven players (min. 25 sets) averaging between 1.32 and 2.69 digs per frame. Natalie Carlin and Katelyn Cook head that effort with 2.69 and 2.68, respectively.
- Overall, the Stags lead the Metro with a .249 hitting percentage and rank third defensively with opponents hitting .190 against them.
Quinnipiac University Bobcats (3-11, 2-1 Metro)
- Quinnipiac has rebounded from a tough non-conference run to start Metro play at 2-1 as a part of a 3-11 overall mark. The Bobcats own wins over Manhattan and Merrimack with a loss to Iona in the mix.
- Giulia Ragusa has put down a team-leading 2.82 kills per set for Quinnipiac. Asia Belli is the Bobcats' most efficient hitter, swinging at a .360 clip from the middle.
- QU ranks sixth in the Metro both offensively and defensively, hitting .143 with a .225 opponent hitting percentage.
- Fairfield is 27-6 all-time against Quinnipiac. Both teams have defeated the other at least once in each of the last four seasons.
- The Stags and Bobcats have been the top two teams in the final regular season standings for three consecutive seasons (2023-25) and had met in the conference title match for three straight years (2022-24) prior to QU's semifinal loss to Rider last fall.
Merrimack College Warriors (0-16, 0-3 Metro)
- Merrimack will come to Connecticut in search of its first win of 2026. The Warriors visit Sacred Heart on Friday before Saturday's clash at Mahoney Arena.
- The Warriors' Metro losses have come to Manhattan, Iona, and Quinnipiac, all on the road.
- Jocelyn Hammerstrand and McKenna Shotwell share the team high with 2.39 kills per set apiece.
- Ella Maldonado heads the back row at 3.28 digs per stanza.
- Merrimack slots 11th of 12 in the Metro in hitting at .112 and rates 10th in opponent hitting with a .254 mark against them.
- Fairfield is 4-0 all-time against Merrimack in a series that began when the Warriors joined the conference prior to the 2024 season.
