FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Bobby Regan earned the Jersey Mike's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week following his performance in a dual meet with Iona University last Saturday. The freshman participated in three individual events as well as one relay and earned a top three spot in all four events. The Fairfield University men's swimming and diving team defeated the Gaels by a score of 216-84 which improved the program to 6-1 on the season.

He picked up finished first in one event and second in two races while helping a 200 medley relay team garner third place. He opened the meet with a runner-up time of 1:03.11 in the 1000 breaststroke before taking the same finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.34) later in the day. Regan posted the fastest time in the 200 IM to earn first-place honors, completing the event with a time of 2:04.12. With the relay team, Regan helped the foursome register a time of 1:42.66 to gain bronze. 

The Fairfield University swimming and diving teams will now prepare for a meet with Sacred Heart University and host University of Bridgeport on Friday at 3 pm. Fairfield will host the diving portion of the meet at the RecPlex Pool.
