FAIRFIELD, Conn.-After posting five wins on Day Two of the three-day Fairfield Invitational on Saturday at the Walsh Athletic Center courts, the Fairfield men's tennis team wrapped up a busy and productive weekend on Sunday with four singles' triumphs over competitors from fellow Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference member, Marist University.
Earning straight sets wins on Sunday were Diego Alcala who topped Jose Catala, 6-4, 6-4, and Luca Benaibbouche defeated Dante Despontin, 6-4, 6-3.
Domagoj Stabek (6-3, 0-6, 1-0 (10-7) and Zach Whittington (6-4, 6-7, 1-0 (10-8) posted three-set victories to complete play at this year's Fairfield Invitational.
Whittington also earned a singles' win on Saturday.
Up next, the Fairfield men's tennis team will be in action in the three-day MAAC Masters Tournament that is slated to begin on Friday, October 3.
