EDISON, N.J. – After helping to guide Fairfield University Volleyball to two victories this past weekend at the Quest for the Crown,
Allie Elliott has been named the MAAC Player of the Week. Elliott put down 2.93 kills per set on .290 hitting as Fairfield defeated Towson and host ODU and was edged in five sets by West Virginia.
Elliott is Fairfield's first MAAC weekly award winner since 2023. She is now a two-time MAAC Player of the Week in her career.
Elliott recorded a double-double in all three Fairfield matches this past weekend, finishing with 2.90 kills and 2.21 digs per set in 14 frames of action. She was selected as the Player of the Match after Fairfield's 3-1 win over the host Monarchs, posting 17 kills at a .324 clip with 10 digs. Later that day, she added 11 kills and 11 digs in the five-set victory over Towson. Elliott capped the weekend with 13 kills and 10 digs in a five-setter against Big XII West Virginia.
Fairfield Volleyball brings its 2-1 start to Pennsylvania this weekend for the Villanova Classic. The Stags will meet perennial Big South powerhouse High Point (1-2) on Friday, Sept. 5 and host Villanova (2-0) on Saturday, Sept. 6.
The home slate begins the following week with a three-match homestand at Leo D. Mahoney Arena. Fairfield will host Yale on Wednesday, Sept. 10 and then welcomes a pair of Huskies in Northeastern on Friday, Sept. 12 and UConn on Saturday, Sept. 13.
