FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Athletics has added Bobby Rudd as Senior Associate Director of Athletics/Associate Director of Athletic Development. Rudd joins the Stags after more than a decade on staff at Mount St. Mary's University.

"We are very excited to add Bobby Rudd to our Athletic Development team," said Vice President for Athletics Paul Schlickmann. "He has a proven track record of progression and success in the dynamic components of external affairs as well as a deep understanding of the critical operational areas within an athletics department. Bobby is a well-respected member of the MAAC community who exudes positive energy and a passion for our business.  We are thrilled to welcome him and his family into our Fairfield Stags community."

"Bobby brings a strategic and relationship-driven approach that aligns perfectly with Fairfield's mission." added Geri Derbyshire, Vice President for University Advancement. "His energy and collaborative spirit will play a key role in advancing support for our student-athletes and the future of Fairfield Athletics."

Rudd most recently served as the Associate Director of Athletics for Athletic Development and Revenue Generation at the Mount, where he oversaw the external revenue strategies for the athletic department. During his time leading the athletic development team, Rudd oversaw all fundraising, donor engagement and hospitality, ticketing, licensing, marketing, and NIL strategies. In that role, his team raised nearly $7 million in revenue, which included several capital projects and generated a 54% year-over-year increase in unrestricted annual fundraising and a 42% year-over-year growth in men's basketball ticket sales. Additionally, Bobby had sport supervision of Men's Rugby, Women's Lacrosse, the Track and Field/Cross Country programs, as well as the spirit squads and pep band.

His tenure in Emmitsburg also included positions in Alumni Relations, Game Operations and Fan Experience. Rudd started at the Mount as a Graduate Assistant in August of 2013 and joined the full-time staff upon his graduation in August of 2015.

A 2013 graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland, Rudd earned a Bachelor of Arts degree as a double major in Economics and International Public Policy Studies. He received an M.B.A. from Mount St. Mary's in 2015.

"I'm honored and grateful to Geri Derbyshire, Paul Schlickmann, Zach Dayton, and Dr. Brett Burchette for welcoming me to the Fairfield Athletics family," said Rudd. "Fairfield's championship culture and sustained success are truly special and reflect the strength of its incredible people and programs. My family and I are thrilled to join this community and excited to call Fairfield home. We look forward to being part of Stag Country and helping build an even brighter future together."

Rudd and his wife Rebecca reside in Shelton, Conn. with their two children, Susanna and Bobby.
