FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Men's Basketball Head Coach
Chris Casey has announced that Halon Rawlins will join the Stags as a freshman in the fall of 2025. Rawlins was the top player in New York City this past season at Nazareth Regional High School, earning New York MaxPreps Player of The Year and CHSAA Player of the Year honors.
"We are ecstatic to add Halon to our 2025 recruiting class. Halon is a versatile player with tremendous upside who effects the game in many ways. He is an elite scorer and defender who is ready to compete and contribute at the college level," said Head Coach
Chris Casey. "We look forward to having him in the gym and helping him continue to develop as a part of the Fairfield Basketball family."
A 6-6 wing from Brooklyn, Rawlins was named the New York City Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) Player of the Year this season an award previously given to numerous future NBA players. Halon recorded 22.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.5 blocks per game at Nazareth H.S where he was coached by NYC great and former Arkansas star Gary Ervin. Rawlins bolstered his scoring total by shooting a blistering 41 percent from three-point range for the Kingsmen.
Rawlins is the fourth true freshmen to join Fairfield's incoming Class of 2029 alongside Nasir Rodriguez, Tony "Butta" Williams and Declan Wucherpfennig.
