#16/18 Stags Meet Drexel in CAA Semifinals, Thursday at 7 PM

The tournament will be held at Towson's Johnny Unitas Stadium

OPENING FACEOFF
#16/18 Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse travels to Towson, Md. for the second time in 12 days, this time making the trek for the 2025 Coastal Athletic Association Championship. The second-seeded Stags and third-seeded Drexel will meet in semifinal action on Thursday, May 1 at 7 p.m. with J.J. Duke and Marcus Holman on the call for Lacrosse TV.

The day's first semifinal features host Towson and fourth-seeded Hofstra.

A DOZEN DUBS
Fairfield's 12th win of the season matches the program record set in 2012 and equaled in 2014. Both of those squads finished at 12-4.

This spring is the sixth season with double-digit victories in program history.

ALL-CAA
Fairfield earned a pair of major awards to highlight the Stags' All-CAA honors, which were unveiled by the Coastal Athletic Association on Wednesday morning. Julian Radossich was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Year, and Head Coach Andrew Baxter was selected as CAA co-Coach of the Year. In total, eight Fairfield student-athletes were recognized on the All-CAA ledger.

SERIES HISTORY
Fairfield's back-to-back wins over Drexel have moved the all-time series to 9-4 in favor of the Dragons. Drexel defeated the Stags in their first three seasons as a varsity program from 1993-95. The series resumed when the Stags joined the CAA in 2015. Fairfield won the first two conference meetings and, with a win on Vidas Field in 2024, snapped the Dragons' six-game winning streak over the Stags.

Fairfield and Drexel are meeting in the CAA postseason for the first time.

CAA CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
Fairfield is 1-3 all-time in the CAA Championship. The Stags were upended by UMass in their inaugural appearance in the league postseason in 2015. In 2016, Fairfield made its only CAA Championship Game appearance, defeating Hofstra in the semifinals before falling to host Towson in an historic 4-2 final.

Last spring, the Stags lost in the semifinals in overtime, 13-12, against Delaware.

POSTSEASON HISTORY
The Stags have never won a postseason conference tournament. Fairfield won three MAAC Regular Season Championships from 1996-98 and two Great Western Lacrosse Regular Season Championships in 2002 and 2005, but neither conference hosted a postseason tournament in that era.

Fairfield's two NCAA postseason appearances in 2002 and 2005 came as the automatic qualifier from the GWLL. The MAAC did not have an automatic bid during the Stags' tenure in the league.

AMERICA'S TEAM IS A HOMETOWN TEAM
After Saturday's victory, Fairfield concluded the 2025 home slate with a record of 8-0 on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium. The unblemished home mark is the first in program history except for the 2020 campaign that was shortened due to Covid-19 after only four home contests.

Fairfield also tied the program standard for the most home wins with the 2005 GWLL Championship Team that went 8-1 at Alumni Stadium.

CAUSING CHAOS, CAUSING TURNOVERS
Julian Radossich has set the Fairfield single-season (41) and career (68) caused turnover records this season. He was also the prior holder of the single-season record (27) established last spring.

Radossich ranks second in the nation with 2.93 caused turnovers per game. He has been named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List and was tabbed as an Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American.

1 KEEPING IT 100
Will Consoli's assist in Saturday's win over Monmouth was the 100th point of his career. Consoli is the 21st Stag to reach 100 career points.
