FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Men's Basketball Head Coach
Chris Casey has announced the signing of versatile guard Cam Estevez. Estevez spent the last two seasons in the Atlantic-10 at the University of Rhode Island, where he played 61 games for the Rams. He will join the Stags with two seasons of eligibility remaining.
"Cam will make an immediate impact for us on both ends of the floor. He can get to the rim and score from the outside, and he is a tenacious perimeter defender," said Casey. "And most importantly, Cam is a dedicated student-athlete who will contribute to our team culture and our campus community. We're excited to have him as part of the Fairfield Basketball family."
Estevez played all 31 games at URI last season and 61 over two years in Kingston. In his career, he averaged 5.8 points per game bolstered by 71 made three-pointers while shooting at a .376 clip from beyond the arc. Estevez also accumulated 82 rebounds, 54 assists and 29 steals for the Rams.
Prior to entering the collegiate ranks, Estevez was a three-star guard coming out of the Canterbury School. The Harlem, N.Y. native also competed for the Riverside Hawks club program.
