Stags Host Sacred Heart in Home Finale, Wednesday at 3 PM

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse concludes the home portion of the 2025 schedule on Wednesday when Sacred Heart comes to Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium for a 3 p.m. contest. Admission is free for all fans.
 
Fairfield University Stags (7-7, 5-1 MAAC)
  • Fairfield enters the final week of the regular season tied for first place in the MAAC at 5-1. The Stags are tied with Iona and Mount St. Mary's, who play each other on Wednesday.
  • The Stags are coming off a week in which they outscored their opponents, 40-15, in the wins over Canisius and Manhattan.
  • Amanda Kozak led the onslaught with 16 points en route to her second MAAC Offensive Player of the Week nod of the season.
  • Brooke Marotti tied two Fairfield single-game records with seven assists and 10 total points in the win over Manhattan.
 
Sacred Heart University Pioneers (6-7, 4-2 MAAC)
  • Sacred Heart comes to Rafferty Stadium with a 4-2 MAAC record on the heels of a dominant 11-2 win at Merrimack on Saturday.
  • In MAAC play, the Pioneers are the league's toughest defense with just 43 goals allowed in six conference games. Fairfield is second on that list with 46 goals conceded to MAAC foes.
  • Offensively, Jamie Tanner has contributed a team-best 36 points with 22 goals and 14 assists.
  • Shae Insinga and Maggie Aaraneo share the team lead with 23 goals apiece.
  • Lisa Martin owns a .431 save percentage and an 8.95 goals-against average protecting the Sacred Heart cage.
 
Series History
  • Fairfield is 17-0 against Sacred Heart entering the first-ever conference game between the crosstown clubs.
  • The teams met for the first time in 1998 and have met annually since 2008 – except for the 2020 and 2021 seasons that were altered due to Covid-19. The game was scheduled but never played in 2020, while the spring of 2021 consisted of only conference action for the Stags and the then-NEC Pioneers.
  • In 2009, Fairfield and Sacred Heart met in the regular season and again in the postseason, with the Stags hosting and defeating the Pioneers in an NCAA Play-In Game to advance to the tournament.
