FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. – Colin Summers carded a 76 (+4) to pace Fairfield University Men's Golf in the opening round of the SHU Spring Break Invitational on Wednesday at Eagle Harbor Golf Club. Tadgh Burke added an 80 (+8) as the second Stag on the leaderboard.
 
As a team, the Stags are currently eighth of nine teams. Fairfield is three strokes behind Manhattan for seventh place at the midway point of the tournament. St. John's leads the field by four strokes with a 292 (+4), led by individual pacesetter Peicheng Chen's opening round 66 (-6).
 
Following Summers and Burke for the Stags, the duo of Peter Crowe and Rasmus Ditzinger each shot an 81 (+9). Chase Millar added an 83 and Anthony Naples posted an 84 in Round 1.
 
The final round from Fleming Island, Fla. tees off on Thursday morning.
