Fairfield Hosts Army West Point, Wednesday at Rafferty Stadium

The Stags and Black Knights will meet for the first time

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse returns home to Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium to host Army West Point on Wednesday, March 5 at 3 p.m. The Stags and Black Knights are meeting for the first time.
 
Fairfield University Stags (2-4, 0-0 MAAC)
  • The Stags split a pair of games last week, hosting and defeating Vermont, 14-10, on Wednesday before dropping a 14-7 decision on Saturday at Drexel.
  • Grace Slater repeated as MAAC Offensive Player of the Week after her second straight 11-point week. This time around, the senior had seven points in the win over Vermont and added four more at Drexel.
  • Slater's Saturday hat trick was her fourth consecutive game with at least three goals. She has tallied at least four points in all five games in which she has played this spring, currently leading the MAAC in goals (19) and points (26).
  • Haley Burns was named MAAC Defensive Player in the Week after a standout game in the midfield against Vermont. She recorded four caused turnovers, four draw controls, two ground balls and a goal against the Catamounts.
 
Army West Point Black Knights (3-1, 0-0 Patriot)
  • Army suffered its first setback on 2025, falling at Colorado by a count of 12-6.
  • The loss also knocked the Black Knights out of the national polls following their 3-0 start comprised of wins over Rutgers, Marist and Siena.
  • Army owns the Patriot League's toughest defense with 7.50 goals per game allowed, good for 13th in the nation.
  • Brigid Duffy and Allison Reilly lead the Black Knights' attack with 21 and 19 points, respectively.
  • Goalkeeper Lindsey Serafine owns a .492 save percentage and a 7.50 goals-against average.
