FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Tennis wrapped up its non-conference schedule on Tuesday with a 4-2 loss to visiting FDU. The day on the WAC Outdoor Courts was highlighted by the matchup at #1 Singles, where
Anna Neyestani knocked off Namie Isago in a meeting of two players who reached the Round of 16 in the fall ITA Conference Masters tournament.
Neyestani earned the win over Isago – an All-NEC Second Teamer last season – by a score of 7-5, 7-6 (5). Fairfield also picked up a singles victory at #4 with
Lily Malinowski collecting the 6-1, 6-3 triumph.
FDU clinched the match with wins at #2, #3 and #5 Singles, while the match at #6 went unfinished. The Knights also nabbed the doubles point with wins at #1 and #3.
Fairfield Women's Tennis returns to MAAC action this Saturday, March 29 at Niagara beginning at 4 p.m.
