MAAC Play Starts Saturday at Siena

Fairfield begins the defense of its MAAC Regular Season crown

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse begins the MAAC portion of the 2025 schedule this Saturday, March 22 at Siena. Opening draw in Loudonville between the top two teams in the preseason poll is slated for noon.

Fairfield University Stags (2-6, 0-0 MAAC)
  • Fairfield has not played since a March 9 loss at Denver – now #24 in the nation – by a score of 18-6.
  • The Stags concluded the non-league slate at 2-6.  Fairfield's six losses included four against teams that have been ranked during the 2025 campaign: UConn, Drexel, Army and Denver.
  • As a result, the Stags enter MAAC play having played the league's toughest non-conference schedule (#18 in the nation).
  • Grace Slater sits third in the MAAC in goals with 21, second in assists at 12, and second in total points at 33. Slater's 4.71 points per game are tops in the conference and 30th nationally.
  • Brynn Donnelly is second in the MAAC on the draw, winning six draw controls per game.

Siena College Saints (2-6, 0-0 MAAC)
  • Siena and Fairfield played similar non-conference slates with similar results. Both clubs fell to Drexel and Army West Point with each holding a win over Vermont.
  • The Saints also earned a win over Le Moyne while dropping decisions to UMass Lowell, Colgate and Binghamton.
  • Siena's attack is once again run through Grace Dobryznski with 12 goals and a team-leading 10 assists.
  • Kelly Logue has also netted 12 goals with Olivia Nicholson adding 10.

Series History
  • Fairfield leads the all-time series, 29-4, after a three-goal win last season in Loudonville.
  • The Stags and Saints did not meet in the postseason last spring for the first time since 2018. The clubs squared off in the MAAC Championship Game in 2019, 2021 and 2023 and played in the semifinals in 2022.

MAAC Notes
  • Despite the MAAC Women's Lacrosse field expanded from 10 to 12 teams, the conference schedule will include one fewer contest this spring, dropping from nine to eight.
  • Fairfield does not play Iona, league newcomer Merrimack or reigning MAAC Champion Niagara during the regular season.
  • The top eight teams will qualify for the 2025 MAAC Championship. The #3 and #4 seed will each host a three-team "pod" on April 25-27.
  • The two winners of each pod advance to join the top two seeds for the semifinal and final rounds, which will be hosted by the #1 seed on May 2-4.

Up Next
