ORLANDO, Fla. – Fairfield University Women's Tennis wrapped up its Spring Break trip to Florida on Thursday with a 6-1 loss to Western Carolina.
Anna Neyestani contributed a singles win for the Stags with a straight-set triumph at #2.
Neyestani defeated the Catamounts' Isabella Sambola – 6-3, 6-2 – to claim her team-leading 16th singles victory of the season. Western Carolina took the other five singles matches in straight sets to clinch the team decision.
On the doubles court, the Catamounts won at #1 and #3 to claim the point. Fairfield's duo of
Sarah Liu and
Maeve Cassidy was tied at 3-3 on the #2 Doubles court when their match was halted due to the WCU clinch.
The Stags return north for their final non-conference match of the season when they host FDU on Thursday, March 20 at noon.
