Fairfield Opens 2025 at Rafferty Stadium with Saturday Visit from Holy Cross

Opening draw set for 1 p.m.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse opens the 2025 season on Saturday, Feb. 8 with a visit from Holy Cross. Opening draw on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium is slated for 1 p.m. Admission is free for all fans to all Fairfield Women's Lacrosse regular season home games this season.

Fairfield University Stags
  • The Stags are coming off of an historic 2024 campaign that included a MAAC Regular Season Championship, the program's first nationally ranking since 2009 and the first NCAA at-large bid in Fairfield and MAAC Women's Lacrosse history.
  • Fairfield was selected as the favorite in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
  • The Stags placed three student-athletes on the Preseason All-MAAC Team: midfielder Haley Burns, draw specialist Brynn Donnelly and defender Macey Daly.
  • Amanda Kozak is the Stags' top returning scorer from last season, netting 33 goals with 40 total points in that campaign.
 
College of the Holy Cross Crusaders
  • Holy Cross kicks off 2025 on the heels of a 12-6 campaign that included a 6-3 mark in the Patriot League.
  • The Crusaders welcome back their top two scorers from last season. Isabela Miller racked up 90 points comprised of 40 goals and led the Patriot League with 50 assists. Sally Zinsner tallied a team-leading 55 goals and dished 23 helpers to total 78 points last spring.
  • Holy Cross was tabbed for fourth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll. Miller, Ella Kittredge and Racheli Levy-Smith were all named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team.
 
Series History
  • Last season's one-goal win for Holy Cross in Worcester tied the all-time series at 11-11. The Crusaders were the lone team to beat the Stags in the regular season last spring, as Fairfield responded from the loss with 16 consecutive wins.
  • The Stags have won four of the last six overall against the Crusaders and six of the last seven played in Fairfield.

  • The first midweek game of 2025 sends the Stags to UConn on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
  • Fairfield also visits Boston University on Feb. 19 before returning to Rafferty Stadium to host Hofstra on Saturday, Feb. 22 at noon.
