Stags Head to Philadelphia for Saturday Matchup at Drexel

Opening draw is set for noon

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse heads to Philadelphia this weekend for a Saturday, March 1 matchup at Drexel. Opening Draw from Vidas Field is slated for noon.
 
Fairfield University Stags (2-3, 0-0 MAAC)
  • The Stags improved to 2-3 on the season with a 14-10 win over Vermont on Wednesday afternoon.
  • Grace Slater had a career day with six goals and an assist in the victory, while Kelly Haggerty added a hat trick and two assists.
  • For the year, Slater leads the MAAC with 16 goals and 22 total points. Haggerty's 10 total goals are good for seventh in the conference.
  • Haley Burns is among the MAAC leaders with 2.20 caused turnovers per game, which slots eighth in the nation among players listed as midfielders.
 
Drexel University Dragons (3-2, 0-0 CAA)
  • Drexel defeated Penn State, 14-9, in Happy Valley on Wednesday to move to 3-2 on the season. The Dragons are unranked but receiving votes in the latest national polls.
  • Drexel also owns victories over Wagner and Harvard with losses to #12 Penn and UConn – unranked at the time but currently #23 in the IWLCA poll.
  • Anna Maria Gragnani has scored a CAA-leading 21 goals this season, with Bea Buckley dishing out a conference-best 12 assists.
  • Standout goalkeeper Jenika Cuocco posts a .443 save percentage and a 9.68 goals-against average thus far in 2025.
 
Series History
  • The Stags and Dragons are meeting for the third straight season and the third time ever.
  • Drexel won in Philadelphia, 10-9, in 2023 and the Stags responded with a 12-5 win last March at Rafferty Stadium to even the ledger at 1-1.
