Wednesday Matinee at Rafferty Stadium as Stags Host Vermont

Opening draw is set for 1 p.m.; admission is free for all fans

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse hosts Vermont for a Wednesday matinee on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium. Opening draw is slated for 1 p.m. with J.J. Duke calling the action for the Stags Sports Network on ESPN+. Admission is free for all fans to all regular season home games this season.
 
Fairfield University Stags (1-3, 0-0 MAAC)
  • The Stags split a pair of non-league tilts last week. Fairfield won a 13-9 contest at BU on Wednesday and fell to Hofstra, 13-9, at Rafferty Stadium on Saturday.
  • Grace Slater was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week after totaling 11 points in the pair of games.
  • This season, Slater ranks second in the MAAC with 15 points and third with 10 goals. She is the MAAC leader in both points per game (5.00) and goals per game (3.33).
  • Kelly Haggerty has also netted double-digit points with seven goals and five assists on the ledger.
 
University of Vermont Catamounts (2-1, 0-0 America East)
  • Vermont is 2-1 on the season after suffering its first setback of the season, 13-7, at Marist. The Catamounts own wins over Jacksonville (11-10) and Le Moyne (18-7).
  • Lydia Doraz is UVM's leader in goals (8), assists (6) and total points (14) and also shares the team lead in draw controls (16) with Sabine Godwin.
  • Anna Rosenberger holds a .460 save percentage and a 9.60 goals-against average protecting the Vermont cage.
  • Fairfield All-America defender and four-time MAAC Champion Caroline Mangan is in her second season on the UVM coaching staff.

  • The Stags are 8-1 in the all-time series with eight consecutive wins over the Catamounts.
  • Last season's 12-10 victory was the fourth matchup in the series to be decided by three goals or fewer.
