Women’s Basketball Game Against Siena Flexed to ESPNU

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will be on display in front of a national audience as the Stags' Senior Night game against Siena on March 6 has been flexed to appear on ESPNU. Fairfield is currently atop of the MAAC standings with a perfect 16-0 record and have won 39-straight games against MAAC opponents which dates back to the end of the 2022-23 season. The Stags are also currently No. 11 in the College Insider Mid-Major poll.

"We are looking forward to the opportunity to play on National TV on March 6th," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "It's great to have such a good matchup accessible to a national audience, especially at Mahoney Arena, one of the best facilities anywhere in the country."

The Stags will bring their exciting play to a national audience which features an offense that ranks in the top-15 in the country in several statistics including: 3-pointers per game (9.2), assists per game (18.1), field goal percentage (.473), assist-turnover ratio (1.35), and scoring margin (21.3).

Fairfield also boasts the eighth best scoring defense in the country allowing just 53.5 points per game. The Stags have held 10 of their MAAC opponents to 50 points or fewer while all 16 MAAC games have featured the opposition having a negative assist-turnover ratio.

At the head of the show is "Coach Carly" who is coming off her 68th career win in just her 88th career game. She currently ranks 14th among all active Division I head coaches with a .773 winning percentage.

On the offensive front, the Stags feature three double-digit scorers led by Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List selection Meghan Andersen who pours in 14.2 per game.

The Stags' 39-game winning streak against MAAC opponents is the fourth-longest active streak in the country behind only FGCU, South Dakota St., and UConn. It also ranks the second-longest in conference history.

Fairfield will have two more games before their national TV game, starting with a road trip to Mount St. Mary's on Thursday at 7pm.
