FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Basketball junior guard Kaety L'Amoreaux was named Metropolitan Basketball Writers All-Metropolitan Player of the Week for the second time this season after leading the Stags to a 2-0 week. L'Amoreaux led the Stags in scoring and rebounding in both of Fairfield's wins, averaging 24.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.5 steals.

"Kaety has proven over and over again that she is not only one of the best players in the MAAC but one of the best players in the region and in the country," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "I'm proud to coach her!"
 
L'Amoreaux, who was also named the MAAC Player of the Week for the fourth time this season, reached the 20-point plateau in each of Fairfield's wins, pacing the Stags with 25 points at Rider and a 23-point showing against Merrimack on Sunday.
 
L'Amoreaux netted 18 points in the first half of the win over the Broncs, including starting a game-altering 18-0 run which she also highlighted with a buzzer-beating jumper to end the half. She would also lead the team with six assists and three steals while tying for the team lead with five rebounds.
 
She followed that performance with a 23-point outing in the win over the Warriors, her fifth 20-point contest of the season. She tied for the team lead with a season-high nine rebounds while once again pacing the team on the defensive end with four steals.
 
For the season, she leads the entire conference in five different statistics including: points (20.1), assists (4.5), steals (2.8), field goal percentage (.507), and free throw percentage (.891).
 
L'Amoreaux has now earned four MAAC Player of the Week awards, two All-Met Players of the Week, and a USBWA National Player of the Week award.
 
The Stags go into the Christmas break on a four-game winning streak while next taking the court on Monday, Dec. 29 at Manhattan at 7pm.
