Mengotti Named To NFHCA All-America Team

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Pilar Mengotti earned a berth to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-America third team as the organization announced its teams on Tuesday morning.
Mengotti becomes the first Fairfield field hockey student-athlete to earn a spot on the NFHCA All-America team since Lucie Vincent received the same placement following the 2023 campaign.

The senior defender enjoyed one of her overall seasons with the Stags in 2025, ranking among her teammates in both offensive and defensive categories. She finished second on the team in scoring while posting a team-high with two defensive saves. Mengotti capped her senior season with 26 points, registering 10 goals and six assists which included a goal in the NCAA Championship against second-seeded Princeton University. She posted a point in 11 of her 22 appearances including a goal in eight different games.

The All-America accolade adds to her impressive list of awards in 2025 which also includes a spot on the NFHCA All-Region team. She collected the NEC Defensive Player of the Year and a berth to the All-NEC team for her contributions to the team during conference play.

The Fairfield University field hockey team, under Head Coach Laura Gebhart, finished the 2025 season with a 16-6 overall record and a 9-0 mark in NEC play. The Stags captured the conference's regular-season and tournament titles which sent the program into the NCAA Championship. There, Fairfield picked up its second win in NCAA tournament play, defeating Boston University by a 1-0 score, before falling to national finalist Princeton.
