Swimming & Diving Finish Day Two Of Terrier Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – The Fairfield University swimming and diving teams finished up their second day of competition at the Terrier Invitational, hosted by Boston University. The women's team stands sixth with 476.50 points while the men's team holds the third position with 603.5 team points.
 
Tone Sandsjo, Natasha De Pree, Balazs Ament, and Max McMillan each came away with a first place finish this evening, beginning with De Pree's finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:50.11. Sandsjo was the next Stags to earn gold, holding the top spot in the 100 breaststroke by finishing in 1:02.32. Balazs also touched the wall first in the 100 breaststroke based on his top time of 54.48. McMillan owned the best time in the 100 back (48.11).
 
The day started with the 200 medley relay as both teams posted their top finish with sixth place. The women secured that position off a time of 1:43.69 behind the efforts of Katie Torrey, Tone Sandsjo, Allie Bashor, Rylie Bauman. The men moved into that slot based on their finish time of 1:29.81 with Max McMillan, Balazs Ament, Tim Regan, Cormac Rouse representing the Stags.
 
The 400 IM was next on the schedule with each team garnering a top five finish. Bobby Regan completed the race in 3:55.22 for a third-place swim while Callie Gray took fifth place after touching the wall in 4:25.74.
 
In the 100 fly, Allie Bashor secured the top finish for Fairfield, earning seventh based on her mark of 55.38. Cormac Rouse took 10th place following his performance in 50.16.
 
The final swimming event was the 800 free relay which the men put forth the best effort by a Fairfield foursome, tying for second by completing the distance in 6:37.16. The Stags were represented by Tim Regan, Ament, Jochi Nolla, and Aidan Schnapf. The women's team, comprised by De Pree, Sofia Smerechniak, Isla Bartholomew, and Callie Gray, ended the event fifth by clocking in at 7:33.85.
 
The final day of the Terrier Invitational is scheduled for Sunday with the preliminaries beginning at 10 am and the final starting around 5 pm. The event schedule includes the 1650 free, the 200 back, the 100 free, the 200 breast, the 200 fly, and the 400 free relay.
