Regular Season Champion Stags Host MAAC Championship This Weekend at Mahoney Arena

Fairfield opens its postseason in semifinals, Saturday at 1 PM

 
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The 2025 MAAC Volleyball Championship will be decided at Leo D. Mahoney Arena this weekend as Fairfield University Volleyball hosts the semifinals and finals of the conference tournament. The top-seeded Stags will meet fifth-seeded Canisius on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. to begin their postseason journey.

Tickers are on sale now via the MAAC ticketing site. Admission is free for current Fairfield students with a StagCard.
 
PRE-MATCH RECEPTION
Fairfield fans are invited to The Diffley Club inside Mahoney Arena for a pre-match reception beginning at noon on Saturday. Should the Stags advance to the finals, another reception will be held at The Diffley at noon on Sunday prior to the championship match.
 
2025 REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONS
At 17-1 in the MAAC as a part of a 23-5 overall record, Fairfield is the 2025 MAAC Regular Season Champion. The Stags have won seven consecutive regular season championships and a total of 24 in the last 30 seasons of MAAC Volleyball.
 
ALL-MAAC STAGS
Fairfield's trio of Allie Elliott, Mamie Krubally, and Maya Walker earned All-MAAC First Team honors for the second consecutive season. They are first triumvirate of MAAC teammates to all land of the conference's First Team in back-to-back campaigns since Liz Bower, Sara Lein, and Jen McLaughlin for the Stags in 1997 and 1998.
 
Emma Bortolotti rounded out Fairfield's honorees with a place on the MAAC All-Rookie Team.
 
STAGS IN THE MAAC CHAMPIONSHIP
The Stags have won a conference-best 14 MAAC Championships (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024) as they eye their third straight crown in 2025.
 
Fairfield is 48-17 in the MAAC postseason overall and 14-9 in 23 trips to the finals. The Stags are 11-1 as hosts with five championships, hoisting the trophy at Alumni Hall in 2012, 2016, 2017, and 2019 and winning it all at Mahoney Arena in 2023.
 
2025 marks the 30th consecutive season that Fairfield has qualified for the MAAC Championship.
 
STAGS VS. CANISIUS
The Stags swept Canisius at Mahoney Arena on Nov. 8 to improve to 42-16 all-time against the Griffs in the only regular season meeting between the two clubs. Fairfield is 4-0 against the Griffs in the postseason, defeating Canisius in the quarterfinals in 1998, the third place match in 2010, and the semifinal round in both 2021 and 2024.
 
Canisius comes to Fairfield with a record of 12-17 overall and 9-9 in the MAAC. The Griffs advanced to the semifinals with a 3-1 win at "Battle of the Bridge" rival Niagara on Tuesday.
 
THE OTHER HALF
The opposite side of the bracket will feature second-seeded Quinnipiac and third-seeded Rider going head-to-head at Mahoney Arena at 4 p.m.

The 2025 MAAC Championship Match is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23 at Mahoney Arena.
