EDISON, N.J. – After fueling the Fairfield University Volleyball attack to lock up the MAAC Regular Season Championship this past weekend, Emma Bortolotti has been named the MAAC Rookie of the Week. Bortolotti hit .465 en route to 4.50 kills per set in sweeps at Manhattan and Iona as the Stags claimed the top seed and hosting privileges for this weekend's MAAC Championship.
 
In Friday's sweep at Manhattan, Bortolotti paced the Stags with 15 kills on .524 hitting. She added a dig and two blocks in the 3-0 victory over the Jaspers. The following day at Iona, Bortolotti put down 12 more kills at a .409 clip with four digs and two blocks.
 
The award is the second this season for Bortolotti, who ranks third on the Stags with 2.37 kills per set. Her .312 hitting percentage is second on the team and fifth in the MAAC, and she has also contributed 40 digs and 61 blocks in 94 sets of action. In conference games, Bortolotti finished 2.50 kills per frame swinging at a .310 rate with 44 blocks in 56 frames of work.
 
With their two wins this past weekend, the Stags moved to 17-1 overall as part of a 23-5 overall tally and secured their seventh consecutive MAAC Regular Season Championship – also the program's 24th in the last 30 seasons. Fairfield will begin its postseason at Leo D. Mahoney Arena in the semifinal round on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. against either fourth-seeded Niagara or fifth-seeded Canisius.

The 2025 MAAC Championship Match will also take place at Mahoney Arena on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m.
