FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Volleyball travels to Manhattan and Iona to conclude the 2025 regular season. The Stags enter the final weekend in the hunt for the top seed and hosting duties for the upcoming MAAC Championship.
Fairfield starts the weekend in first place at 15-1 in the MAAC as part of a 21-5 overall record. The Stags are one match ahead of Quinnipiac (17-11, 14-2 MAAC) with the two teams locked into the top two seeds. One victory will secure at least a share of Fairfield's 24th MAAC Regular Season Championship. Pending the Bobcats' results this weekend in Western New York, the Stags enter the weekend needing to defeat both Manhattan and Iona to guarantee the outright title and the top seed in the postseason. While the regular seasons series between Fairfield and Quinnipiac was a split, the Bobcats own the tiebreaker as a result of their 3-0 win in Hamden compared to the Stags' 3-1 triumph at Mahoney Arena.
Fairfield at Manhattan – Friday, Nov. 14
- The Stags swept the season's first meeting with Manhattan on Oct. 18 at Mahoney Arena. In that match, the Fairfield attack was led by Maya Walker and Mamie Krubally with 12 kills apiece. Walker's dozen came on a scoring .611 (12-1-18) from the middle, while Krubally put down 12 at a .309 clip (12-3-22) from the right side.
- Manhattan enters the weekend at 4-22 overall and 2-14. Most recently, the Jaspers were just points away from a 2-0 weekend as Siena escaped Draddy Gymnasium with a 3-2 win last Friday before the hosts bounced back to sweep Marist, 3-0, on Saturday.
- In the first meeting with the Stags, Manhattan was led by eight kills from Hanna Kaczynska and six by Fiona VanDyke. Teresa Garza headed the Jaspers' defense from the libero position with 11 digs.
- Fairfield is 58-7 all-time against the Jaspers and has won the last 21 meetings.
Fairfield at Iona – Saturday, Nov. 15
- The Stags took a 3-0 decision over the visiting Gaels at Mahoney Arena on Oct. 17. The defensive effort in that outing featured four Stags with double-digit digs, led by 15 from Abby Jandro from the setter spot. Allie Elliott added 13 from the back row, libero Delaney Moon had 12, and Katelyn Cook recorded 10.
- The attack was led by Mamie Krubally with 11 kills from the right side, while rookie opposite Emma Bortolotti tacked on nine from the pins.
- The Gaels, who host Sacred Heart on Friday, will be concluding their 2025 season on Saturday. Iona is 10-20 on the year with a 5-11 MAAC tally and cannot qualify for the postseason.
- In the first meeting, Iona was led offensively by Julia Leonardo with eight kills. Caleigh Schroeder filled out her statsheet with three kills, 16 assists. and a match-best 19 digs.
- Fairfield's October sweep extended the Stags' lead in the all-time series to 49-14. A win on Saturday would match the longest winning streak in the series at seven straight matches.
